I was looking at using ASL to replace my Linksys BEFSR41 router on my DSL connection, as I'd like to be able to easily set up a VPN endpoint. I have everything installed & such, but I can't for the life of me get NAT to work. Here's my setup. eth0 is my local network, with an IP of 192.168.1.1, and eth1 is connected to my DSL modem via PPPoE. I have NAT configured for routing ANY service from Internal_Network___ to PPPoE_Interface___. I have the packet filter set up to allow all packets to all hosts on all interfaces, in order to keep that out of the way. I know that the machine is making a good connection to the DSL modem, as I can ping hosts on the internet at large from the console, as well as do DNS queries. However, I can't get packets from one interface to another. When I looked at the logs, it looks like everything is being dropped, as all the connection messages say Drop in them. I can't get at it at the moment, as disconnecting the DSL modem from the Linksys POS makes it (the Linksys router) freak out. What exactly am I doing wrong here?
