I've set my firewall up and now want to test it. I want to firstly ping the external interface of the firewall to make sure I can at least communicate with it. I've enabled all ping and ICMP settings within the packet filter rule base but for some reason cannot ping the external interface. When I try and ping it the request times out. I have checked the arp table of my PC and have recieved an arp request from the firewall but for some reason do not receive an echo reply. My firewall is running on a HP Pavillion 9722.
Does anyone know what's going wrong?
