I just tried to convert my eth1 (RTL8139 using the 8139too module) to a VLAN intereface, which worked fine. Although, when I add another VLAN interface to that same physical interface, I am not able to pass any traffic to the new VLAN (subnet). I do have a Cisco switch which is configured for "encapsulation dot1q" on the specific port that eth1 plugs into. I also am allowing the trunking of both VLANs out that Cisco port, to the Astaro's eth1. Any thoughts? By having an eth0 in addition, I would think that I have just moved from two physical/logical interfaces to two physical but three logical interfaces, still staying within my home user license. But, my network interface summary shows three logical interfaces with four hardware devices which are eth0, eth1, eth1.9, and eth1.10. Am I unable to use this new interface b/c the licensing might be seeing four "devices" instead of three logical subnets?
I know that I will eventually "grow" out of my home user license and need the power user license for the type of playing around that I like to do, but I just haven't faxed the form over yet.
