I am still at ver 2.028. Never upgraded, and dropped off the board, when after many times faxing in my info, I never got me heavy contributor license. So I am still at 2.028, and finally ready to activiate my 6th interface. Actaully interface #4 [:)]
Back long ago when I set this box up, I had set the definition of interface #4 to 1.2.78.224 with a mask of 255.255.255.240
Note first 2 octets are not real, but will serve for discussion.
The address was 1.2.78.233. But I was having some equipment problems and could not move net 1.2.78.224 to the firewall, and changed the address to 10.2.78.233 (i.e. RFC 1918 address). I just changed the address and not the network definition, as there was no way to change the definition.
So finally today, everything is in place to move the network to this firewall. I go into the Network Interface menu and change the address from 10.2.78.233 to 1.2.78.233 and the change is not taking. I tried changing the address to 1.2.78.226 and changing the mask.. The change is not taking..
I tried restarting the firewall and then making the changes. No dice.
Do I have to log in and use IFCONFIG to fix this????
This of course means finding the piece of paper with the root password on it [:)]
HELP!!!!
BTW, I would LOVE to upgrade, but money is short and the 6 interfaces is not enough. I am building a box with 8 interfaces....
