interface not working after install

I've got the weirdest thing going on. I'm installing ASL 4.0 on two identical machines. Identical meaning hardware also, except one has 3 3-com nics and the other has 2 3-com nics. Here's the funny part, the one with 3 nics sends no messages, but is detected by ASL and the ip is pushed eth0 and everything. The one with 2 nics works like a champ. Any suggestions?

I have the same trouble with my ASL 4.0 but I´m not using 3com nic´s I´m using three RealTek 8139

I have posted this issue earlier but only got some replies that pointed to the nicdriver but if you are running different nic´s and we have the same problem it doesn´t sound like the nicdrivers.

Turns out to be just a bad pci slot. who would've guessed?

My problem was solved when I updated to 4.017.
Must have been a nic driver or a kernel issue.

31 days and still ruunning ...
