123.123.123.123 Remote administrator 234.234.234.234 ASL box behind ISP dyn ip reboot from remote place -> don't know ASL box new ip (for example 234.234.234.xxx)
I think you can solve this by having a service behind ASL box connecting into an external server, revealing the external ip (for example a logging web script). Or, if you receive the admin e-mails externally, you should see the ip from the boot notification message & headers. And, even some dynDNS solution might work as well?
YES MagicMike, that's the scenario i ment. I know about dyndns but would find it more handy to do without. The Admin-mail idea is a good one, THX! However in the message i only see the ip from the remote machine, from wich i logged-in with the last time. Think i heard that the source ip of a mail is included, but i dont know how to get that information [:S] Do you?
