2) questions QoS IPSEC + Fairness

Hi everyone,
I have been struggling with the QoS of astaro...
Finally i have got it to work roughfly but it took some time..

Have 2 questions

1: Does astaro QoS works over IPSEC links.
For example i want to have higher qos from a certain ip to a external certain IP.
FROM            SERVICE     TO       WEIGHT BORROW
INT_VOIP   ANY          VPNVOIP   HIGH      BORROW

Where
INT_VOIP is 192.168.101.23/32
VPNVOIP  is 192.168.31.231/32

Thoose nets are not on the same asl..
Does this work??

2[:)] As I understand ASL doesnt support fairness.
My problem is that i have an 1mb/s uplink.
And I have a FTP server on my internal lan..
When people downloads from it the speed they get 
varies a lot. Some get like 40K other 3-4K even if they have no load on their own links.
Has their been any thoughts about flow based qos?

Or does someone has any other good idea..
The ftp server is today an Linux box, Running pureftp-d.

    Mathias,

    1) the problem ist that IPSEC encryption happens before QoS, means that you do not
    have the chance to qos traffic in an ipsec tunnel - only the IPSEC connection itself can
    be prioritised.

    2) ASL QoS is designed for outgoing traffic not so much for incoming, since ASL cannot
    control internet bandwidth.

    As I thought on question 1.

    But on the second question. I want it to make fairness on the link, for example if 5 persons download traffic from my ftpserver. Then i want them to get 20 k each..
    So its on the outgoing IF i want to it to do an Equal shape..

    But maybe i should look for something similar to Packeteer instead...
