exchange

i have an exchange server running behind my firewall. i want to open SMTP port on the external nic. how can i do this. i can send email through the firewall but cannot receive email. the port is not open. do i have to use dnat/snat? or is there any other possibilities. 
im using astaro 4. the smtp proxy is on

    I f you have the SMTP proxy on the port is open to the outside world. and the proxy is now collecting your mail for delivery to your internal mail server IE exchange. Provided you set it up right.

    You need to have your hostname correct, under incoming mail all the domains you answer mail for need to be there, along with the internal mailserver that will take delivery of this mail for them.

    it worked. the hostname wasnt correct. now i changed it, its working.

    Why don't you use the asl as smtp gateway ??? Route all your smtp on the exchange internet connection to the asl, and gain spam and anti-virus protection.
