ASL 3.216 hangs totally

hello,
my asl box runs into trouble.
after some days of good work it stands still,
no login possible on console, no web-frontend.
and of course no network access.
on console window i see many tcp-drop-..... like filter-live-log.
doing a hard reset it doesn't see it's harddisk for reboot - even in bios.
switching of the powerline enables the harddisk again.

any idea?

I'm going to use the disk-checker from hitachi soon ... ;-(

    Sounds like a hardware problem.  Make sure your fans are working and not overheating.  Power save options in BIOS should be off as well.

    Yes, definently hardware. Make sure you're using good hardware for your firewall. You can try putting a fresh install of V4 on since some drivers are updated, but I doubt that will work. Good luck

    thank you for your hints.

    it is a very new machine, not the worst parts - i thougt.
    but i will check for the powermanagement next reboot ;-)
    and check the harddisk with a boot-floppy.

    but for now it runs.
    i still think there could be some memory-problem on too much connections together with e-donkey useage.
