I use ASL 2.0.32. As far as i've read it's possible to have up to 100 ip aliases for one NIC. Now i wonder what's about performance?
Ex. i have 30 IP aliases for webservers on one NIC. All of the aliases with their own specific portforwarding rules (usually ports 80,21,25). Are there any perfomance issues that i have to keep an eye on it? If there would be a performance problem where would it be? RAM, CPU, NIC?
i'm currently testing it with a 733 mhz, 256 mb ram computer. The NIC is currently a "normal" Realtek RTL-8139 card. I have not implemented it yet but i wonder if i have to take some "presteps" to prevent possible performance problems...
