Problems with ASL 3.2 an two networks behind it.

Hi all,

i have ASL 3.2.14 installed and it works very fine. 

My problem is now :

PC´s on net 1 have IP´s from 192.168.0.x , router and dns is a W2K Server with 192.168.0.1.

PC´s on net 2 habe Ip´s from 192.168.1.x, router and dns is the same W2K Server with 192.168.1.1.

The network works fine, but the Astaro Proxy can only use User from net 1.

User from Net2 can´t use it, because the became no answer from ASL.

ASL has IP 192.168.0.50, with no gateway set up on ASL ( we use DSL to connect to internet).

How i must set up ASL that both networks will work with it ???

    Chances are Astaro has no clue how to get to the 192.168.1.x network. You need to add a static route on the ASL box to tell it how to get to the 192.168.1.x network.

    Hi,

    i configured one Definations/Network with 192.168.1.0 as IP and mask 255.255.255.0 and one with 192.168.0.1 and mask of 255.255.255.255.

    Then i´m create a route from 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.0.1

    Now pings will work fine, ASL answer correct, but when i try to use IE with the ASL Proxy, it will not work.

    Whats wrong ???

    Hi,
    if your hosts (net1 and net2)on the same physical network with your ASL you can configure an additional interface on your asl-box net1_interface_ with an address 192.168.0.x
    net1a_interface_ with an address 192.168.1.x
    then both networks can use the asl as proxy. by the way the asl can act as your router very god. then all of your hosts can use it as default-gateway.

    Hi,

    net1 & net2 are not on the same physical network.

    Only Net1 physical on the same network with the ASL.

    How must i configure ASL that User from net2 also can use the Proxy ???

    Assuming you set-up a proper static route you would need to add Net2 in the Allow list of the proxy server (please be sure it isn't "Any").

    I run multiple internal nets with no problems.  You just need to include those other nets in the rules like Net1 as appropriate.

    thanks, now it works fine.

    I forgot to do this when i trie to make the static route.
