FTP Client-Transfer aborting

Hi,

I have two rules: internal network --> any server FTP allow, internal network --> any server FTP-DATA allow

The transfer to any external ftp-server seems to work fine, but then it is suddenly aborted. I asume, thies happens when transferring many small files. I tried to set a new MTU for my windows client, but without success. The problem occurs with 4 different ftp-servers on the web (linux proftpd, windows iis, etc.)

Do I have to change any paramters in the clientftp-software? Any ideas? Thanks for help!!

Hi fup3i,

Have you tried enabling passive (PASV) in your ftp client?

You say that the transfer is suddenly aborted. Do you mean that you are actually transferring a file or just connecting?

check for multiple gateways. Remove all except
he one assigned to the external interface.

Portscan detection can cause this... many small file transfers = many rapid new connections. Do you have it on or off?
