UDP broadcast is blocked

Hi,

I would like to allow UDP broadcasts on a specific port from a specific server in my DMZ with destination somewhere on the LAN (regarding WakeOnLan).

I've tried a lot of things, but the packets are blocked.
Which setup is necessary?

    broadcasts can't be routed, they are blocked therefore.

    A very ugly murks comes to my sick mind: you might try to bind the broadcast address to a virtual IP to the FW's interface and then port-forwatd (DNAT) the intended port to the (one!) designated machine (well, maybe even a broadcast address here).

    I won't go into detail, but using the broadcast address as machine is considered not to be a good idea.  "Not a good idea" as applicable to the idea of pressing an ugly, big, red button of unknown function labeled "DANGER!", that is. 

    Port-forwarding broadcasts to other machines is just calling for trouble, even it might work. Just imagine a Smurf/Fraggle attack to that forwarded port. Or a DHCP client running wild. Or a Windows machine (ports 135-139 anyone?). Or, or or. 

    Well, now the big, red button is your's - I'll be leaving you here...
