File/Print Sharing

My friend and I are testing VPN stuff.  Very cool first of all.  My first foray..

Anyhoo, my lan addy is 192.168.0.0, his is 192.168.1.0.  We set up a functioning tunnel between us.  My question is, what is needed to file/print share?

I believe it only works on the same network/subnet.  I also hear talk of using a WINS server.  Can someone briefly describe what would be involved in file sharing across our 2 nets?

Perhaps from the minimums to an "all bells/whistles"?

You'd need to allow the NetBios ports (137 & 139 for win9x and NT4, I believe, something else for win2k/xp).

WinS server is only needed before win2000, and it can also be bypassed by using lmhosts files.

Anyways, allowing all the netbios ports is probably all you need to do on the firewall itself.
