Problem letting Tapeware services talk to each other?

I am using a backup program called Tapeware and I am trying to get this sw to talk to each other through the firewall. The doc. says to open 4 udp ports but I have tried that and to no avail. I have also tried adding a rule to open for all any but that doesn't help either.
And if I check the log, I see that a packet to 255.255.255.255 on the given udp port has been blocked.
How do I solve this?

In the network section of webmin, create a host with address 255.255.255.255/32. Create the appropriate firewall rules. This should solve your problem.

broadcasts cannot be routed. If your application tries to find the other server using broadcasts
it won't work.
Have a look in the configuration of tapeware how
to set the IP address of the corresponding tapeware server.
