e-mail notification

Hi,

We are testing the astaro firwall 3.2. We have everything (almost) working 3 seperate networks, routers, sendmail etc. etc. There is just 1 thing that don't work: e-mail notification. The logfile's report that the notifications are send, but there aren't any in the /var/mail or when we use a popper. We've tried a user and the root account. We can't find neither the location where astaro puts it's e-mail for the delivery.

    asl sends notifications out via SMTP. There are no local deliveries .. at all.

    Set up a route for "panther.domain.nl" to your internal mail server. Make sure it accepts mail for this domain.  [:)] 

    Or, if michael@panther.domain.nl is a "fake" address, put in a real one that can be resolved via DNS.

    hi,

    I don't know if your suggestion is gonna work, because i can send en receive e-mails to panther.domain.nl from my admin account. The admin account goes through the firewall, so i think that it is setup correctly. Panther is the sendmail and dns server. We setup 2 sendmail servers and they can communicate with each other. So i can send a e-mail to the 2e mailserver via panther(1st mailserver)and receive of course.

    And the panther.domain.nl is a fake adress (official internet adress, but just only in a test network) and can be resolved by the dns server. We have several names in the dns configuration and all work normal as reverse lookups.

    hope you can me further on this.

    Another issue:
    i understand that the smtp poort must be open from internet to the dmz. Must the dns poort be open from intenet to the dmz for the root servers? and must the dns poort open from the dmz to internet.
