I currently have a Sonicwall handling my 5 public lips.. its the TELE3 and i have hit the ceiling on the ip;s and need to expand to Astaro and get all hte cool extra stuff...
I just took one ip from my sonicwall and setup Astaro 2.x and its working now.. great product from what i can see and i am game for purchasing a license on it.. here is my question...
1. i use .193 through .196 for my sonicwall with .193 routing through to the webserver/mailserver ,etc on a single machine.
2. i 4 other machines that i want to setup static 1 to 1 NAT for.. so they get/return traffic on the same ext ip
3. i want to be able to use dhcp for my pda, laptop etc internally and not have to use the 1 to 1 NAT.
Can i have all 5 ips in 1 to 1 NAT mode and STILL route global DHCP clients through an already 1 to 1 NAT ip? say the .193 ip)
i can do this on a Cisco and the Soniwall and i am SURE i can do it on the Astaro solution.. just wanted to ask..
going through and testing the machine and getting a feel for what it really needs for my network.. i also want to use the smtp vscanning engine.. it appers tht thia is like a smtp smart-host and actually accepts the amil and then forwards it to the internal server? and vice verse? (so i would need ot point my smtp server to this as a smart host to SEND mail out from the server)
tahnks
