config problems (newbie)

Hi all,
ive got some problems with 3.051...

External : 192.168.1.1(255.255.255.0)
(Netgear Router MR314 to German Telekom DSL)

Internal : 192.168.2.100(255.255.255.0)
(my privat Network)
I can run Up2Date , ping my internal and external Networks on ASL but i am not able to get my  private Network connected to the Internet.
Maybe the reason is that i "can not see the forest because of all the tree's" !

A short discription on howto get me Network running (with or without the Mr314) will help me a lot.

    Are you masquerading your private network?
    Did you insert the proper rules in the packet filter tables?
    Did you enable icmp forwarding on ASL?

    kuddel in astaro webmin you need to set your default gateway to 192.168.1.1 under network - interface area of firewall Then the best thing to do is to set up static routes on the Netgear Router.

    example on netgear router: 192.168.1.0destination 0.0.0.0next hop router/gateway then you would have to set up a static route 0.0.0.0destination 192.168.1.0next hop router. This is all done on the netgear router providing it lets you configure static routing.
    then set all the host with the default gateway of 192.168.1.1 regardless of what dhcp server of router assigned.
    make sure dnat and snat and masquerading are off on astaro because the netgear router has its own NAT.

    Try this and see how it works. 

    echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

    or this :

    # local interface, local machines, going anywhere is valid
    ipchains -A input -i $intint -s $intnet -d 0.0.0.0/0 -j ACCEPT

    this board is ridiculous...

    I too am having issues setting up my masq etc...i also have adsl/cable and want to get rid of my router in favor of using the ASL exclusivly...it seems that most of the people on this board dont understand what a 'newbie means'. They write these cryptic answers like did you enable masq from the internal to external and did you set the packet filter rules....but they never bother to give specific details and detail ip #'s for us....

    I too am far from the woods yet....I have yet to see any fruit from my labor

    I also think that Astaro would do much better to give people like one or two possible calls to tech support before they force them to buy there product so that they can atleast set it up and test it before they want to buy it (if they are stuck like me)

    Dont get me wrong I am not sour grapes...this product is free for evaluation and the pepople who are here help us for free as well...just remember is you speak to me in french i wont understand as i only speak english...if i write i am a newbie i mean it....
