Problem with log's - Will not delete!

Hello, just curious to know if anyone else has encountered this! I usually keep a close watch on my /var/log directory and delete logs in a timely manor- BUT for some reason after deleteing everyting I could in that directory- ( that isn't important to Astaro's funcationality) the directory still show's 89% usage and climbing? Has anyone seen this before?

what about the subdirectories e.g accounting ???

Yes, I checked everything in the /var/log directory. It was really weird-- there was nothing I could do to stop the space from growing. In the end after the firewall crashed, I just backed everything up and rebuilt it. I guess we will see what happenes this time.
