proxy through an external server

This is hardly related to ASTART, but I figured I'd probably get better / faster help here.

Not using a astaro proxy necessarily just plain OL' IPTABLES command line style... or any other proxy means

i want to do the following

ME > RH7.2 (masq)>INTERNET>ext server>INTERNET (or destination host)

basically to gain better download speed but it is for bi-directional games like quake using UDP and tcp

mi initial thought was to some how use a socks5 on the ext server and to socksify my quake but i have yet to get this working... I have a socks5 server and a program that socksify's programs in windows but it wont connect.

so what about IPTABLES.... Is it possible to masquerade say.. my 1 internal IP through the external server

both me and the ext server use IPTABLES

Or any other ideas are welcome
