MS VPN out thru ASL

I've created a VPN connection using the Microsoft wizard in Win2000 from behind ASL. It works fine when I bypass the ASL box. But from behond ASL, the Packet LiveLog gets hits on destination port 1723 TCP. I create a rule to allow internal network over TCP to Remote VPN and the MS VPN does not connect. If I change the service to ALL protocols then it works. Turns out the VPN client uses protocol 47. How can I allow this specific protocol instead of ALL protocols? Or is this not the way to allow MS VPN through?

    The easiest way is to set up the vpn using ASL for authentication. It works better, fast and more reliably that MS PPTP.

    If you must do your authentication on your MS server open port 47 and 1723 to your authentication server.

    You could also use IPSEC which should work with with a win2k PDC.
