Proxy Setup Questions

Hello,

I have been experimenting with Astaro over the past many days doing multiple re-installs.  I am glad that the re-installs go quickly  [:)] 

I have done the following things to get proxy working to some extent.

1)I have enabled Proxy/DNS and configured my internal and external Nic cards correctly. 

2)I have also enabled HTTP Proxy in non-transparent mode.

3)I masqueraded my internal to External IP/Nic configs. (Only Internal to External)

4)I defined a network with 192.168.1.0 (Internal) and 216.158.41.0 (External)

5)I entered the local internal IP address in the proxy client browsers with port 8080.  

At this point, I started to test my configuration multiple times and many reinstalls because I sometimes lock myself out.

The proxy clients seem to work for a bit, but then stop? At times, I restart Astaro and the proxy clients are able to access the internet again.  The internet access is very unstable and seems to work for awhile and stop working.

Am I missing something?I must have set something correctly to gain temporary access to the internet. I am using 2.0.16 and have not done the update since some people were reporting problems.

    The only think I can tell you is to try to use it in different configurations so you can find out what the problem is more specifically.

    So try it with the transparent proxy enabled instead of the non-transparent one.

    Then try it with no proxy enabled.

    Etc.

    This will get it to where you know exactly what the problem is.

    cbarone,

    sounds like spoofprotection. Please check your cabling
    and make sure that there is no loop in your network.
    to validate that you can check the kernel log
    "grep -i spoof /var/log/kernel"
