Hi everyone,
I was just advised to try Astaro as a replacement for Mandrake SNF.
Now, before I go ahead and install, I was wondering if someone could answer a simple query I have. You'll have to bear with me as I'm a newbie when it comes to firewalls.
Basicly, I have an ADSL connection which runs through an Alcatel SpeedTouch Home (but I have modified it to run as a SpeedTouch Pro).
I 'dial-up' to my ISP internally on the modem so as far as my PC is concerned I am always connected to the internet.
Now, my ISP (Eclipse in the UK) have announced that they will be offering 5 static IP addresses with their ADSL 500 Lite connection.
At the moment I have one static IP, and I am using NAT through the ADSL modem. I was using it through the Mandrake SNF until today.
What I would like to do is share my internet connection through the firewall but have my PC's on the internal network to use the static IP's given by my ISP.
I was hoping it wouldn't use NAT, just use the firewall as a gateway so I could use things like MS Netmeeting & Messenger.
Is this possible with Astaro?
Rob
