DHCP/Routing Problem

Hi, 
I am having a bit of trouble getting my DHCP completely up and running.  The Interface is up and working and all is well as far as it is concerned.  I guess my problem is more a routing issue.  I check the dhcpcd-eth1.info file and everything is there, but when I set my workstations in the internal network to look to the asl box as the gateway it does not work.  I try to ping an external address and I get a reply from the asl box saying network unreachable.  To me it sounds as though it is not routing from the internal interface to the external, But here is the weird part...bear with me while I explain.

When I ping an address that is in the 66.27.239.X network I get a reply.  So that is where I lose my theory of the routing between the interfaces.  I think that the line in the above config file that reads network:66.27.239.0 is where my problem lies.  I have tried changing the line to 0.0.0.0 but it makes no difference and then gets rewritten when I reboot.  Is there any thing that I am missing that you can see?  any help would be much appreciated.  Is the ASL designed to function as an internet gateway?  Or should I not set my client workstations to look to it as a gateway.  If not then how do I put it between my ISP and the rest of the network??? I have my packet filter set to allow all just to rule that out as well. Thanks in advance.
