2 nic setup with dmz

hi fredrik,

you'll have to split up your network in 2 smaller ones (8 IPs each):

193.216.62.48 / 255.255.255.248  (or /29) 
Router: 193.216.62.49 
FW(ext): 193.216.62.50

193.216.62.56 / 255.255.255.248  (or /29) 
FW(DMZ): 193.216.62.57

for questions in the future, it would be better (more secure) to use fake-IP's   [;)]

    No problems since these are old ip's that are disabled next week  [:)] 

    Also, if i add another nic for the local lan, i would just give this the usual 192.168.x.x/255.255.255.0 and masq it. 

    Wouldn't that be right?

    yes - this is the 'normal' way to get private lans working ...

    Hi all.

    I have a small network that i'm trying to set up.

    I  have a 193.216.62.48/255.255.255.240 on the public (16 ip's). Router is at 193.216.62.49 wich is also the gateway.

    ASL will be set up on .50

    How do  set this up with real ip's on the dmz?

    I know i have to split the network, but what will the netmask be, and what ip's will be availeble for dmz use?

     I have read the faq and i have to use solution #2 (http://docs.astaro.org/asl-faq.pl#4008) since  i can't do anything with the router at this point.
