Can't DNAT pop3 server (but webserver is ok)

I have set up my astaro firewall properly, and it works very well. But I have one problem: I can't seem to get dnat to work with my internal pop3 server. it works well with a internal webserver, and I thought it was just to set up the same rules for port 110. My config is this:

DNAT from [gateway-external-ip]110 to [internal-pop3-ip]:110

to test I sat the iptable-rules to [from-any-ip]:110 - [to-any-ip]:110

this setup works for my internal webserver, but not for my internal pop3...   

what's wrong?

    well, i found the error. the gateway-ip was incorrectly set on the pop3-server. It was then only working on the local subnet; and was not able to send reply's to external requests.   [:$]
