can't receive pop3 from internal sendmail

I have installed 2.0 on my firewall with wan eth1 as ip(65...)and as "mydomain" and the lan eth0 with ip(10...xx8)

I have a mailserver with ip (10...xx9). My  mailserver accepts mail okay but I can't receive the mail from the mailserver through pop3 on the lan.  I have qpopper installed on the mailserver. The client is pointed to  mydomain using pop3.

I have tried rules with mailserver going back to wan interface.

What rules am I lacking? Do I need somthing else installed on the firewall box? Is there a way to check the pop3 logs or traffic?

My ISP is my DNS with his mx record showing "mydomain"

I'm still fairly new to linux. Any help appreciated.

    well this sounds like  a rule problem.
    What kind of rules did you configure?
    Any NAT or Masquerading?

    DNS, DNS, and again... DNS! You say your ISP has defined an MX record that points to your mail server. I am considering that the real IP of the MX record sits on your external ASL NIC, since you are receiving emails. I also bet that if your rules are configured correctly you will be able to access with POP3 from outside, but from inside, your mail server IP is different and something has to resolve it.

    Solution: either run an internal DNS and add an MX record that points to the internal IP of your mail server, or use the DNS proxy of the firewall to resolve.
