Is there anything out there besides this discussion board? I have downloaded and installed Astaro but I cannont get it to route between interfaces. Both interfaces are installed, both have IP's and subnet maks's assigned to them correctly. How do you route? the links on the web-page are not very clear. Route LAN to WAN? or quad zero quad zero---> Default Gateway is all I want! Can anyone help??

    Well here is the deal!

    LAN: 207.202.201.224 255.255.255.240 Eth0
    WAN: 207.202.201.254 255.255.255.252 Eth1

    I have a machine connected in the LAN On: IP:207.202.201.226
    Subnet:255.255.255.240
    Gateway:207.202.201.224  Eth0

    I can ping 207.202.201.224 Eth0 and 207.202.201.254 Eth1 But when I do a traceroute from the machine with the IP address of 207.202.201.226 ( On the LAN ) it stops at 207.202.201.224 Eth0 

    How do I get this firewall to route packets to the internet??

    The default gateway for the local host is 207.202.201.224 Eth0? Is this wrong? I tried 207.202.201.254 Eth1 and that didn't work either ;-)) It has to be something simple at this point...

    Thank you for your help, I am just a little frustrated with this software.

    I went to docs.astaro.org, but when you go to manual and get 3 pages down in it, it crashes. I have tried three different machines. I try to download it, crashes.. I have heard nothing but great reviews about this product and I am testing this for my company along with other products like netscreen, sonicwall, and PIX. They are already setup.. Hopefully someone can help me out with this.

    OK.
    207.202.201.224/28 = .224 to .239. You are using the network address as your IP address - this won't work. Use .225
    207.202.201.254/30 = is actually outside the normal legal range (the highest being .248)for some reason that I can't remember. This won't help

    However based on your IP addresses the default gateway on the firewall should be 207.202.201.253/30 on the firewall. Is that correct ?

    The simplist way of continuing from there is to do the following:
    1. Learn how IP works
    2. Setup the firewall properly with valid IP addresses
    3. Define a network as local-subnet 207.202.201.224/28
    4. Set up a packet filter local-subnet any any allow
    5. Use .225 on the eth0 interface and use this address as your PC's default gateway
    5. Learn how IP works

    That should work.

    Yes! I recoginized this late last night and got it to work, Doh! Well my origianl problem occured at the upstream level. My ISP forgot to route the extra range I had asked for, and the interface I was using was incorrect, obviously! I appologize to this people of this board and "NugentS" for having to answer and idiot...
