IRC DCC

I cannot get DCC Send in IRC to work. It just times out. Dcc Recieve works fine.

We have a single outside IP address using astaro to masquerade the internal network.

Its not a packet filter rule, cause we have tried it with Any(in) Any (out) rules.

So does anyone know something I'm missing?

    I've experienced the same thing. Have not tried to make it work though..

    I'd be interested in any answer you may get.

    hiya Reclined and Orjan (sorry cannot produce the slashed "O"   [;)] ),

    DCC reverses sender and receiver (the receiver initiates the data connect). Weird - but thats like it is.

    Effect: Connect from Receiver gets stuck in Masq. !

    Solutions: 
    1. Use SOCKS for IRC & DCC (best)
    OR
    2. Set fixed DCC port range for each client (in Mirc, DCC->Options) and DNAT that range to each client.

    This is a generic masquerading problem.   [:)]
