Hi I just downlaoded and installed ASL 2.0 for use on my small office as a firewall. I have 2 work stations behind ASL and my cable modem. I have set up ASL to MASQ all internal network traffic to my external ip address and I have set up 1 filter rule like so:
From: all internal ip
Service: Any
To: Any
Action: Allow
Now shouldn't this allow all packets that originate or are requested from my interal private network to pass freely through the firewall?
If so then how come I had to turn on the HTTP proxy to retreive web pages? Is there a way to eliminate the use of the HTTP proxy?
I also can't connect to AOL's instant messenger service.
Can some one please give me a little guidance on what I need to do?
If possible, I would like this set up so that all my interal worksattions can access the internet as if they were directly connected without having to use a proxy server.
Thanks,
Steve
BTW, Great Product! Just need a few pointers [:)]
