Webserver(DMZ) through internet from LAN?

I have an webserver in my dmz and want to connect to it through the internet from the LAN. I can connect to it through asl, and from somewhere else i can connect to it over the internet, but if i put in the real link in my browser(from the LAN) and go on the internet to my webserver(in the DMZ) i get an "connection timed out". Is this not possible?

    do you use only "one" public ip adress (statíc/dynamic) ?

    If yes then i think the problem is that the request have because of masquerading the same ip adress (distination and source). In my opinion this paket would not be routed out of asl. Another static route is in this case not possible. Maybe I'm wrong !?

    Maybe 2 dns entries solve the problem. The first with the public ip and the second with the private ip (round robin). But then only every second request hits...;-)

    The problem was that i only could get the admin-section of an webmailprogram(squirrelmail) if i contacted the mailserver(in the DMZ) through a browser with the real url and not with the ip. The solution was to put the url with ip in the "hosts" file on my win2k pc and then in the IE in advanced options exclude the url from going through the proxy. And now it works great!
