MSN Messenger

Does anyone here have experience of setting up specific rules for MSN Messenger. I know I could use the socks proxy but I'd like to do this direct. Unfortunately MS don't seem to have been exactly cooperative when it comes to setting up rules for this.

    mine is working but actually I'm using a rule in packet filter like:

    internal_net any any allow

    so It is assumed you can trust your clients.

    If you don't want to do that, open the livelog and try to connect to the MSN service. You will see which ports are used because of the rejected packets popping up in the livelog.

    Then try opening those ports and see what happens.

    Yeah - I've got allow any to any outbound at the moment. I was just looking at narrowing things down a bit and was wondering if anyone else had done it already.

    I guess the livelog is the only way to go.

    I also trust my internal users (given its me only) but I'm also looking at this as learning.
