ISTM that it would probably be impossible to change the IP of the internet connection remotely because the Gateway and the IP must be entered in 2 steps instead of 1.
Imagine the following:
Customer has DSL from a company that is going out of business.
Customer gets new connection from new ISP.
I try to change ASL to new IP and gateway remotely and ask customer to unplug old line and plug in new one.
However, I will not be able to make both changes as the web interface won't be accessible anymore.
I think it might work if both external connections are plugged into a hub during the changes, but this requires an extra hub be available.
I am actually experiencing this right now, but I am on location, and realized this may be very difficult remotely.
Thanks,
Barry
