Telocity and Astaro - How do you make it work?

I have installed Astaro on a spare box I have at home to broaden my horizons. Currently, the setup is one internal pc, astaro box, Telocity DSL router. Now, here are my problems:

My Telocity IP address (eth1 on the Astaro box) is (i'll use erroneous IPs to explain) 128.192.1.125 with a subnet of 255.255.255.252. HOWEVER, the gateway is 128.192.1.126! Astaro puts a default route of 128.192.1.124 in the table and WON'T let me change it. My other problem is that I can't ping the gateway adress (Astaro box) from anywhere, even the Astaro box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi brad,

if you do not need to access other IPs in the range from 128.192.1.120-128.192.128,
use a netmask of 255.255.255.248 instead and enter the .126 as def. gw in Network->Interfaces
