rules and proxy

I just finish the Asl install...changed a few settings and I am able to surf the net.. 2 things: Can't make the rules to work  and also can't browse the web without using the proxy server enable on each computer.. please help.

    Hi,

    you need to turn you custom rules on (klick on the red light at the left side of the rule).

    I did that.. I setup  a rule like any,any,any,any... but I am unable to ping ot telnet(for example) computer outside of my local net.. I am also not able to browse the web without using proxy enable on my local computers...

    You should enamble the transparent Proxy Feature in the ASL WebAdmin in the Proxy-HTTP section.

    That will REDIRECT all conections to port 80 into port 8080 of the ASl Box, where Squid is listening.

    To be able to telnet other networks you should make shure you hava enabled the ping other hosts into PACKET FILTER - ICMP
