SMTP error / blank Hotmail Pages

My strange SMTP error msg (from Outlook) states, "No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient."

I know my mail client is configured properly, since sending is not a problem when connected directly over the internet.  I'm trying to hit my ISP's mail server.  SMTP proxy is disabled, and I have a packet filter rule inserted for SMTP.  Any ideas ?

My only other problem is accessing Hotmail message pages; folder views appear fine, but when a message is selected the page returns blank...wtf ?  (transparent HTTP proxy)

    OK, I have the blank Hotmail pages problem solved, but my inability to send to my SMTP server has me stumped.  Am I correct in assuming that this could be a DNAT / SNAT issue ?

    Please help  [:O]

    Well, my bad    

    My SMTP problem seems to be a port issue.  I have inserted "From INTERNAL==>smtp==>To EXTERNAL" as packet filter rule #2, but still no luck. Yet when I enable rule #1 (INTERNAL==>Any==>Any), I can send fine.  What the hell ?

    So I sniffed the packets to see if it was using any funky ports when rule #1 was enabled, but no such luck.  Keeps using port 25 as its destination, as it should, with a random source port of 43xx-44xx.

    Astaro (1.824) simply will not allow me to send internet mail without rule #1 enabled.  What gives ?

    Ha!  Upgrade from 1.824 to 1.951 solved the problem, EXACT same configuration.  Go figure.
