routing problems

We are currntly using version 1.822 of astaro, the machine seems to be having problems routing. In the routing section there is no way of adding new routes as none of the definitions appear in the routing drop down box. We have 4 ethernet cards in the machine, is this likely to be a problem? The routing doesn`t seem to work either for our leased router or our adsl router, though I can ping both cards and reach the internet from the firewall on both connections. Any help would be greatly appreacheted.

    You should define some networks, before editing the routing table.
    Those are the networks that will be offered in the drp down box in routing.
    You can give a single host a definition like

    INT-LAN-DNS 10.10.10.5 / 255.255.255.255

    But I suggest post post your network configuration, to avoid netmask problems.

    I have created definitions for the network but they don`t seem to appear on the drop down box (on the routing part). None of the others are there either, like the static ones

    hello rappie,

    the routing dialogs do not display networks for which a route is already set (you cannot have two routes for the same network).
    You do NOT need to define routes for your connected networks (networks in which your firewall is a member). These routes are automatically inserted by the system kernel.
    You should see these routes in the lower part of the routing page. On my test system, it reads:



    In this example, even if I would define a network of 192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0 as "LAN", then "LAN" would NOT appear in the boxes, since a route for it already exists.
