Exotic configuration?

Hi,

I need to set up the following:

Connected at same network segment of eth2 I have 2 web servers y.y.15.35 (Public) and y.y.15.36 (Test) both WinNt/IIS4.

The problem is:
When I use a client station located at internal network segment to map a shared folder on Test Server I'm redirect to ADSL link and reach Test server thru dedicated link.

I can 'view' my web pages 'direct' using any browser on any station (without redirect to ADSL link).
I've tried to do some packet rules to solve this but I failed.

Anyone have any tips?

hi AC,

thanks for the detailed description. but:

1. where does your ASL's default gateway point to ?
2. on which interface do you masquerade ? Both ?

Also, can you log on with ssh and post the output of ifconfig and route -n ? thx [:)]

Thanks for your reply.

Here we go:

1) ASL's default gateway points to x.x.18.1 (eth1).
2) Only x.x.18.41 (eth1) has masquerade.

HI guys.
Looks like there is no route defined from local windows network to y.y.x.x network. at least acordind to your route information prin out. That 's why packets going to default gateway and looking for destination on y.y.x.x network through x.x.x.x and external route.
Try to add route from 192.x.x.x network to y.y.x.x network manualy using route command.

to add this route it MIGHT be something like this;

route add -net x.x.15.32 netmask 255.255.255.224 dev eth2

if this is wrong PLEASE tell me so i can learn. [:)]

I GOT IT!
I forgot to configure a SNAT from Internal Network (Windows) to Test Server (y.y.15.36).

It's working now.

hmm,

you could always add the route entry to the pcs on the windows network and just use a gateway of 192.168.1.7

windows example
route add x.x.15.32 mask 255.255.255.224 192.168.1.7

you might have to change the 192.168.1.7 to x.x.15.40

i think if you add a -p it will make it permenent (uses another p word that i don't remember)
