DHCP and ASL

Ok, don't ask the "why's" behind this, but I need to set up the following...

Now, I know DHCP support is not enabled for ASL right now, but I can put another box between the cable modem and ASL that does have DHCP capabilities and do a straight through mapping of all ports..  Or is there a way to get DHCP working on ASL, supported or not?

The purpose of this setup is as follows:

1. Route general internet traffic out the Cable modem

2. Route work related traffic out the DSL

3. Have some scripts running in the background on the ASL box which monitor both circuits.  If one goes down, it will auto-fail all of the traffic over to the other circuit.
