HA with software appliances

The documentation on configuring HA only discussing configuring with hardware appliances. Is it possible to do HA using UTM9 software installs? If so, do the hardware platforms have to be identical?

i use virtual software appliances.

Works.

While migration i have not the same hardware assignment.

But you should have the same amount and speed of interfaces.

Hi, Alan, and welcome to the UTM Community!

As Dirk says, the key is to have the same number and types of interfaces. If you're going to try to make both instances run on the same piece of hardware, you will need to run the following command as root:

cc set ha advanced virtual_mac 0

Thanks all for the responses. I think we'll give it a try and let you know what happens. Our plan is to use two physical servers.
