Problems setting up user logging in bridge mode

the logging interface isn't great but the logs are very detailed.  I actually have my utm synchronized with my AD...then i have the http proxy setup with ad sso transparent user logging using the agent.  It makes going through the logs much easier when you can search by AD username..[:)]

At 2:08 it shows users and mine is empty. I must be setting up my users wrong. It must be bad data in on my part  and then bad out because of me.

There is no place that I can see to pin IP address to user, so how is Sophos tracking the user in the logs other then IP address?



I have Authentication set to NONE, is that ok?  I have not given her a X.509 certificate and my users, is that the reason I am not being logged very good? Again, if there is no place to "pin" the IP address or MAC address to a user name that I can see in users setup,  how are they being logged??

usernames do not get logged if they are not listed in the webadmin.  There are several ways to do this.  If you have AD then first you need to oin the utm to your AD domain.  Then you need to setup user synchronization between the utm and the AD.  Once that is done and hte users populate then you can seutp the http proxy transparent AD SSO logging using hte user agent i mentioned.

Make sure under dns routing you have dns requests for the AD domain routed to the AD dns or you will have synchronizaiton issues of all kinds.
