Additional external IP from different class, single external nic

Dear all,

I have been given a total blank UTM 9 installation, with no (presumable default rules), with one interface defined as External (obviously, it has two net cards) and configured on an IP from "class c1".

Now, I needed additional (external) IPs and I got them from "class c2".

I tried all possible, even static "gateway" route  for the additional IP x but still not being able to ping / connect (on the initial set up ip, all works).

May I get any hint from you?

Thank you!

  • Setup the additional addresses at Interfaces & Routing > Interfaces > Additional Addresses.  If the default rules have been erased as well, you may want to consider doing a factory reset at Management > System Settings > Reset Configuration or Passwords.  Afterwards, on next connection to WebAdmin, the install wizard should start.  This'll create some of the baseline configuration for you.

Ping connectivity is controlled at Network Protection > Firewall > ICMP.
