Client Authentication

Hi
I'm confused with Client authentication section.
I'd configure this section but it seems that users whom their names are in the "Allowed Users and Groups" box, are still not authenticated. Even there is no download link, on their User Portal page.
Also In the UTM Manual Document there are two sentences that make me more confused:
first: "Only users who are within the user group
of the Client Authentication configuration will find a download link on their User Portal page". Is it the "Allowed Users and Groups" box in client authentication section or not?
second: "Add or select the networks that should use Client Authentication. Note that those networks need to be directly connected to the UTM for Client Authentication to work". What does it mean directly connected to the UTM?
