Martian Source...

I've been getting some of these when I check dmesg, from the kernel.

eth1 is my WAN where the comcast cable modem is connected.

MAC: 00:01:5c:6f:46:46 is from the comcast gateway which is 73.8.192.1

Does anyone know why I'm getting these?

Could be scans, could be Comcast doing something odd.

Unless the logs are getting too big, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the uber fast reply, no it does not happen that much to get logs very big. I would say about 30 entries in the course of 3 days and some days it does not happen at all.

Martian source means that the address the packets are coming from is foreign to that interface. Looks like broadcast messages, probably nothing to fret over.
