With regards to the Availability Group, and more specifically, UDP, the options on 9.309-3 are Port, Interval, Timeout and Always Resolved. As the guide and stickies read:
Availability Group checks should be done to UDP 53, I personally use check every 15s, and fail after 3x, which has proven in the past as a good setting in most cases.
One can easily infer the Port and Interval. However, upon reading the timeout:
Interval: Enter a time interval in seconds at which the hosts are checked.
Timeout: Enter a maximum time span in seconds for the hosts to send a response. If a host does not respond during this time, it will be regarded as dead.
It doesn't seem like the phrase "fail after 3x" gels whatsoever. I could very well be overanalyzing this, however, I believe either the guide or the help needs some TLC. I would really appreciate it if someone should shine some light on this.
That being said, the whole purpose of me creating an Availability Group was for DNS Forwarders, to which in addition to those, many have suggested including a Request Route. If I do not run my own Internal DNS, and I only use DynDNS for my UTM FQDN (Standard Version), is there a benefit to this. If so, would this be valid or futile:
84.168.192.in-addr.arpa → UTM (192.168.84.1)
