Hello,
We are in the process of purchasing 4 VA instances of the UTM. We are mostly a virtual environment but what I have opted to do is to use 1 x 1u r610 server in each data center to dedicate to the primary/master instance of the UTM in each location and install the software version. The plan is then to run the 2nd HA instance in the Hyper-V cluster as a VM.
What I am most concerned about though is ensuring continued communication between both instances. Because we heavily utilize VLAN's that is why I want to dedicate a physical host to the primary instance and exclude virtualization dependencies on such a critical piece of the infrastructure, so it remains mapped at all times, and there is no concerns with routing or accessibility between both instances being VM's in the same cluster.
Is anyone else running a similar configuration? Is there anything I need to be aware of here? Any limitations between the two instances connecting over switched fabric versus a direct cross-over connection between physical instances?
Thanks
