DNS best practice, still valid??

Dear community,

Looking at this post -> https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/53/t/33262 by "William".

I'm just curious if this is the best way of doing it? Or should I stick with the "DNS best practices" sticky thread.

I have 2 x AD DNS + DHCP servers and I'm wondering which approach to take?

Any suggestions?

    I fully agree with Bob in that matter

    Client PC -> AD/DNS/DHCP Server -> UTM -> Google/OpenDNS.

    has proven to run quite well with recent UTM versions. Follow my tweaking guide in the signature to make sure, that you don't simply use a number of DNS servers in the DNS forwarder field but a availability group to make sure, that always a working DNS is used as forwarder. Using multiple single DNS servers instead may give you quite unpleasant situations, if one or more of the forwarders are down or lame ;o)
