MutliWAN unique setup

I am trying to switch from PFsense to sophos with very little interruption of services and also trying not to change network design at least initially. currently pfsense is my primary gateway but if my cable modem wan goes down, pfsense changes the primary gateway to another ip address which is the ip of an asus router that has a 4g cell modem connected to it. on pfsense i just added a gateway to get this all to work. how do i accomplish the same. so far i only see add interface...

    Yeah, the UTM needs a physical interface, not just an IP somewhere on the network.  Run a line from the Asus into the UTM to use it as a secondary WAN.  Alternately, you can possibly get rid of the Asus and plug the USB 3G into the UTM and see if it's recognized, then setup a 3G/UMTS interface type for it.

    i originally wanted to just plug the 3g modem into pfsense but it wasnt recognized which is why i used the other router.now i actually prefer this setup because pfsense/sophos runs on a esxi box which has crashed from time to time. i go out of town a lot and im unable to restart the box so its nice to have a 2ndary device that is less complicated as a failover which i access remotely through a computer that has the asus router setup as its default gateway. 

    I will attempt adding a virtual nic to see if i can get this to work.
