MutliWAN unique setup

I am trying to switch from PFsense to sophos with very little interruption of services and also trying not to change network design at least initially. currently pfsense is my primary gateway but if my cable modem wan goes down, pfsense changes the primary gateway to another ip address which is the ip of an asus router that has a 4g cell modem connected to it. on pfsense i just added a gateway to get this all to work. how do i accomplish the same. so far i only see add interface...

    Add the second interface for the Asus router, then set them both into Uplink Balancing, with the Asus as Standby.


    yeah this is tripping me up because when i setup a 2nd interface it is asking for me to associate it with hardware but there isnt another nic or anything.

    the way it is setup now is that pfsense is 192.168.1.1 and the asus router that has the 3g modem attached is 192.168.1.254
