Adding static ARP entries on UTM restart

The problem...
Using a VPN for remote access, the user is assigned an IP address on a different subnet to the LAN. Trying to send a magic packet to a workstation fails as there is no definable route.

Is there any workaround for this?

  • Hi,

Static Routes are not the issue; you need Static ARP.

Also, adding NATs will not help.

If you set a static ARP entry on the UTM, does ether-wake work from the UTM?
Then, does it work from the VPN device, using a UDP magic packet?
